With the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic fading away, in-person summer camps are returning to the Michael and Sara Kuhlin Center.
“We’re offering two distinct but related workshops this summer, one focused on the practice of journalism and telling stories across a variety of media, the other more focused on the art of production. For the students, it’s an opportunity to learn from some of the best in the business with state-of-the-art technology. For the school, it’s an opportunity to showcase everything we have to offer, and we hope that more students will take advantage of the BGSU experience,” said Falcon Media Manager Karl Smith
Bowling Green State University offers summer academics, summer camps, and pre-college programs during the summer. These camps include our Content Creator Day Camp and our Multi-Platform Journalism and Storytelling Camp. These camps were designed by our faculty and staff to help potential students find their passions before they decide what they would like to make their career. Attending these camps will also allow students to learn from our world-renowned staff while utilizing our state-of-the-art equipment and technology.

“Both summer camp opportunities are designed to get high school students motivated about media production and journalism. One camp focuses more on the journalism and reporting side of things, whereas the Content Creator Camp is more of a generalized approach to making all sorts of media content intended for social media platforms and YouTube,” said Phil Beskid, an associate teaching professor for the School of Media and Communications and faculty advisor for both Falcon radio and WBGU-FM.
