Among the honorees, Duane Pohlman (’87) was named to the Journalism Hall of Fame. In addition to his ongoing work as an investigative reporter for WKYC in Cincinnati, Pohlman also serves as the chairman of the Journalism Program Advisory Board at BGSU. He was also one of the contributors to the BG Falcon Media challenge gift for the last two BGSU One Day fundraising events. Falcon Media Manager Karl Smith had the honor of introducing Duane.
Another TV broadcaster was given the Early Career Award. Amy Steigerwald is traffic anchor and reporter at 10TV in Columbus.
Many scholarships were distributed, including the Terry Goodman scholarship (sponsored by the BG News Alumni Society); Nadine, Terry’s widow, was on hand for the event.
A number of alumni made the trip to BG for the event, including Dr. Frank Johnson, Mike Kuhlin, Mike McIntyre, Elizabeth McIntyre, Jared Wadley, Bob Bortel, Max Filby, Danae King, Tyler Buchanan, Harold Brown, and Mary Beth Eastman.
A reminder that you should make plans NOW to join us for Homecoming, September 26 – 29.
