Michael McIntyre, 1987, finished his BG News career as the paper’s editor. He spent 30 years at The Plain Dealer, much of it writing the popular “Tipoff” column in the newspaper and at cleveland.com. After leaving the P-D in March 2020, Mike was named executive editor of ideastream, a non-profit public media organization in Northeast Ohio that operates several public radio and television stations. For 10 years, he hosted “The Sound of Ideas,” an award-winning, daily public affairs call-in show on WCPN FM 90.3, the Cleveland NPR affiliate, and other ideastream stations. He now hosts a Friday morning program on those stations. McIntyre was inducted into the Cleveland Press Club Journalism Hall of Fame in 2016.
